GENERAL:

XenoCorp Texture Mod V3.1

NOTE: These are merely a collection of texture mods collected in my travels through out cyber space. I take no credit for the creation of these, and wish the original creators best wishes and thanks for these awesome creations!!!

These are some new textures for StarFleet Command 2, Empires at War, and continue the trend from the preferences I had with SFC1. 

I have play tested the entire texture pack on the following machine:

AMD 1.133Ghz Athlon Thunderbird Processor, Gigabyte 7GTX, 256 MB DDR Ram (PC2100), SoundBlaster Live! in EAX mode and Legacy mode, VisionTek Geforce2 Ultra 64 MB.


INSTALLATION:
------------

** NOTE ** It is highly recommended you make back ups of the original files before replacing them with the Texture Pack files. I don't care how you do it, just DO IT ! If you really screw the pooch, you can reinstall, or download backup textures from www.xenocorp.net

To install the textures, 

1. Unzip the entire contents onto your desktop, or your default unzip folder.
2. Go to (specified installation directory for StarFleet Command II)\ASSETS\TEXTURES, click "Edit", then "Select    All"
3. Right click on the now highlighted files, and select "Properties".
4. Remove the check mark from the attribute "Read Only".
5. Go to the "XC Texture Pack V31" folder you just unzipped, and select the specific texture you want to use.
6. Right click on the now highlighted file, and select "Copy".
7. Go BACK to the (specified installation directory for StarFleet Command II)\ASSETS\TEXTURES folder, and right    click in the right pane, select "Paste".
8. Confirm the file replacement dialog with "Yes". Repeat this process for each texture you want to use.
9. Once you've copied all the textures over, now go to Edit, click on "Select All" in the \ASSETS\TEXTURES folder,    and right click on the now highlighted files.
10. Re-check mark the attribute "Read Only".
11. Enjoy !

Misc:
----

fx0.bmp		Changes the explosion background,disruptors, phasers, drone trails, and it now makes sparks instead 		of the silly purple smoke when the ship is damaged.

fx1.bmp		Changes shield coloring, mine warning graphics, explosion ring and center, and the phaser 4. 


Missiles:
--------

Two different missle types : the Mini missiles from BlackOps, and the Quantum Missile. Included is the fx0.bmp necessary to get rid of the exhaust trailers if you like.

*Install the missile mod in the \Assets\Models\missile folder, instead of the \Assets\textures folder.


Photons:

Photons, we've got photons !

Blue Quantum Torpedo Photons - Blue colored photons, hotter looking, faster tumble, twinkle added.
Quantum Torps Mark I - White colored photons, for simulating the Quantum torpedo introduced in ST:FC
Quantum Torps - Replaces Plasma R's if you want to do it this way.
Realistic Torps - Photons - hotter looking, faster tumble, twinkle added.
Smaller Photons, Red - A more realistic photon size, sparkly, but taking into consideration the scale factor.

NOTE: You DO NOT copy the folders \Realistic Torps or \Quantum Torps into the StarFleet Command II\ASSETS\TEXTURES folders, simply rename the desired effect to photons-2.bmp and then copy that to the \TEXTURES folder in the StarFleet Command II folder.


Hellbores:

Hellbores- Colour kept, but much better envelopment effects. 
The \Hellbores - Red folder has a fx4.bmp that changes the coloring of the Hydran Hellbore weapon into more of a red scheme.


Fusion Cannon:

Electric Fusions - Zappy electrical arcs included.
Smooth Fusions - Much smoother, more devastiating effect.


Disruptors:

PPD:

The lock-on beam is a purplish-blue, with the plasma waves being much more colorful.

Plasma Textures - various:

Black Ops Plasma D mod :
These are the new Plasma D graphics to create a smaller more compact defensive plasma.

Liquid Plasma :
Much more liquid looking plasma with trailers, this is the one I use.

Razor Plasmas:
Cool looking eclectic plasma, with very original color scheme.

Plasma - no trailers:
Exactly that ! No trailers on the plasma itself.

Damage Textures:

Borg Textures:

Shuttlepack:
-----------

      These shuttles are ready to play, with working illumination maps.  Just replace your existing shuttle folders with these, and start playing!

   IMPORTANT NOTE: It's always important to give credit where credit is due, so let me make it clear that five of these textures are not mine!  The Klingon, Romulan, Gorn, Hydran, and Lyran shuttle skins were authored at the Newships Project several months ago.  Out of respect for their work, I did not alter the skins in any way.  All I did was add luminosity maps, and wrap them around the appropriate mods from SFC II.
   The Federation, Orion, Mirak and ISC shuttles are my own skins and illumination maps, so I'll accept any and all blame for them.  Enjoy!

Type of Model:
   New .bmp texture files and illumination maps, wrapped onto existing SFC II shuttle model geometry.
      NOTE: Model geometry designed and copyrighted by Taldren/Paramount Pictures.  
      Please do not modify these textures without contacting me first.  There are no 
      copyright issues involved, just common courtesy.

Description of the Modification:
   New textures for the shuttles of all races in SFC II

**PLEASE NOTE***

I have tried to give credit where I could, but again I want to re-iterate that the textures are a COLLECTION of textures done by the excellent modders out there in the SFC2 Community. If anyone see's their work here, and wants to email me the credits list, I will be HAPPY to modify the readme.txt to reflect such, and update the distribution zips to include such! Thanks to you all, it's because of YOU this package was possible!
